‘Vibemaster’ (noun): the supreme ultimate master of any particular vibe at any given moment.

Tim Johnson, a.k.a. Vibemaster, is a Musician and Producer, Film Score and Sound Design Artist from Melbourne, Australia. Tim has been DJing and producing music since 2003 and as the name suggests, he has never been one to be defined by genre. His electronic music encompasses a broad spectrum of original and remix material from hip hop and glitched-out dub to deep progressive house / techno and disco.

Since 2012, Tim has worked as an audio engineer in both live and studio environments and also in the film industry in a variety of roles such as Film Scoring, Sound Design, Location Sound, Boom Operator, Dialogue Editor, ADR, Film Mixing and Mastering. In 2015, Tim was awarded 'Best Original Score' for the short film 'Best Before' at the Festigious Film Festival, up against 100 other short and feature film entries. He has a slew of short film works under his belt and is working on feature film ‘Astro Loco’ (currently in post production stage).

Under his alter ego Vibemaster, and as main composer and conductor for the 10 piece funk / afro / dub collective The Vibraphonic Orkestra, Tim has played just about every good Melbourne music venue on the list. He has also performed at numerous high profile events around Australia such as Rainbow Serpent Festival 2010 / 2011 / 2013 / 2017, Solar Eclipse Festival Cairns 2012, Wide Open Space 2012, Folk Rhythm and Life 2012 / 2014 / 2016 / 2018, St Kilda Festival 2012 / 2016 / 2017, and more recently making his foray into the international circuit with performances at Quest Festival Hanoi, Vietnam 2017 and Jai Thep Festival Chiang Mai, Thailand 2018 / 2019 / 2020.

On 14 February 2020, Vibemaster released his debut album, ‘The Dust Collection’ - a selection of remixed works featuring a slew of bands and artists from Melbourne and beyond.
